It's Official....I'm Thirty!

My favorite day is finally here, January 12. That means I am officially thirty. To me this is no big deal because I don't feel like I am thirty. Unlike most people my age, I don't have a mortgage or a car payment. I don't have a husband or children. The only person I get to focus on is myself.

This is my New Year! So today at 6:58 pm, begins my new year. I am going to make this my year. I have a few things that I want to be this year that I hope I can accomplish. I want to get a tattoo. (Sam is going to help me with that in the next week or so.) I want to have my own place, whether its an apartment or a townhouse, Just a place to call my own. And mainly I want to have a REAL job. Not saying I don't like my job now and I do make so great money some days, but I have a degree that is doing nothing but hanging on my wall.

I want to be able to be myself. I am doing a pretty good job of that so far!

My Fourth Birthday - 1986
Strawberry Shortcake will always be my favorite!

I will always love my birthday though. It's the one day of the year that I can have all to myself. Although there are some great people I share my birthday with, so Happy Birthday to my dearest friend Mr. Ed Anderson. He will be 84 this year. Happy Birthday to my France Friend Tad who is 25. And for Jeremy who got me hooked, Happy Birthday to Howard Stern. And everyone else before and after!

The Final Countdown....7 days and counting.

Well the countdown has begun. There are only 7 more days left until I am no longer in my twenties. It doesn't seem like I am going to be that old. I certainty don't look like I am about to be thirty. I don't have anything special planned for the big day, just dinner with the family and dancing in Nashville with the girls - well Sam anyways. I've ordered my pink, two layer cake, more than enough for the family to eat in over a week. I have some pink glow in the dark balloons and I would love to have 30 pink roses (but I would rather get them for a guy then have to buy them myself).

I've always loved my birthdays and this year will be no exception. People say as you get older that birthdays no longer matter but I think I will always love them. It is the one day of the year I can make everything all about me and not feel conceited :-).

I do share my birthday with a few people I know. I've known Mr.Anderson since I was a little girl from church. We usually send birthday cards to each other every year.  There is Tad that I met on my trip to France. We are going to meet at Mimi's Cafe for a birthday lunch this year. I am looking forward to that. And of course there is the famous Howard Stern. He is a great interviewer, wish he would give me a job! That would be the best birthday present of all.

My 30th Birthday....

With my 30th Birthday fast approaching I am deciding how I want to celebrate. As many of you know I have an intense love for everything Paris, so when I saw this blog post from Hostess {with the Mostess}, I fell in love! These images come from the many French inspired party idea they have on their website.

My personal favorite, the Flirty "French Candy" Party Theme. I love the black and white striped table clothes mixed with the various shades of pink, (a personal favorite color of mine).

This cake is from Las Vegas Custom Cakes is going to be either my future birthday/ bridal shower/ wedding cake. Possibly all three if I am lucky!!

With my birthday being in the winter, I am tempted to push it back and celebrate my 30 1/2 birthday (which I am doing this year) with an actual party and celebrate outside. I can see these decorations decorated outside with millions of twinkle and floating lights, tons of bistro tables and chairs, and a dance floor. I have a feeling this is going to be very, very expensive. Although I do have tons of Eiffel Towers I can already use for decorations! Oh well, better stop saving up now!

Valentine's Day was until now S.A.D.

I have expereinced my first non-single Valentine's Day. (Sort-of). I am not sure exactly what we are as of yet, but it was nice to finally be able to kiss someone on Valentine's day for once in my 27 years. He also gave me a teddy bear and a box of chocolates, the standard V-Day gift, but it was the thought and my first gifts too, apart from my nephews who gave me some pearl earrings! What girl doesn't love chocolate?! I gave him a kind of half V-DAY, half birthday gift. Today was his 28th Birthday and I gave him a amp for his guitar. I bought it used from my brother, so it was fairly inexpensive. As always, it's the thought that counts!

XOXO,
